Zillertaler Höhenstraße
The Zillertaler Höhenstraße is one of Austria's most beautiful Alpine roads. It starts right at Villa Haidacher and leads up to an elevation of 2020 meters. You can take your own car or the public bus to Melchboden, or you can ride your mountain bike on a loop trail with a descent via Hippach or Aschau. Look forward to gorgeous panoramic views of the entire Zillertal including the Zillertal Alps. Beautiful hill farms and mountain inns invite you to stop for refreshments, or you can start out on one of the numerous mountain hikes, for ex. to the Kristallhütte, Wedelhütte, or Rastkogelhütte.
WasserWelten Krimml
Europe's largest waterfalls are located in Krimml, which is ca. 45 min. away by car. In summer as well as winter, you can experience a breathtaking natural spectacle here. It is brightly lit every Wednesday until 9:30 pm!
Schlegeis Alpine Road
Open from mid-May to mid-October. The Schlegeis Alpine Road will lead you into the fascinating high mountain world. Awaiting you on a length of 13.3 km are waterfalls, natural stone tunnels, and views of the glacier. For real biking enthusiasts, the journey is the reward and at the end of the ride is the emerald green reservoir and a pure mountain experience in the Zillertal Alps high mountain nature park, which has been a protected area with 397 m2 in the upper part of the Zillertal since 1991. You can look forward to peace and quiet as well as a view of the highest mountain in the Zillertal Alps, the Hochfeiler at an elevation of 3,509 m. The dam wall retains 126.5 million m3 of water in the Schelgeis reservoir. On a tour of the dam wall, you can explore the interior of the 725 m long wall. Hiking destinations from the Schlegeis reservoir (also part of the Berliner Höhenweg): Olpererhütte (2388m), Dominikushütte (1805m), Friesenberghaus (2477m), Friesenbergscharte (2910m)
Hintertuxer Glacier with Nature's Ice Palace
The Hintertux Glacier has probably existed for more than 2 million years. During the last 11,000 years, the size of the Hintertux Glacier was about the same size it is today - with small and larger fluctuations. On the gondola ride from the Sommerberg to the Tuxer Fernerhaus, visitors can still see the impressive moraines from this period. Marvel at the magical world of ice inside the glacier on a tour through Nature's Ice Palace. Unique insight into eternal ice!

The state capital of Innsbruck, which is 45 min. away by car, is always worth a visit. Shopping, sightseeing, and plenty of culture - Innsbruck is a one-of-a-kind city!
